A Summer Wedding Revisited

bouquet

Most often when doing wedding flowers we are working against the clock and it is a miracle if we manage to snap off one or two  photos of the bouquets, so it is a lovely treat when our newly weds share with us some of their photos of the big day.

tables bouquetVincent and Akiko were married just before christmas at a Salix, a beautiful Mornington Peninsula winery, beneath a lovely spreading tree decorated with white hanging flowers.

Delicate white David Austin and blue moon, roses with hydrangea, Queen Anne’s lace and silver suede were the choice of flowers for the bouquet, buttonholes and table decorations.

A Time for Twine

This bright and bonny bouquet was bound with jute twine to give a natural rustic finish and to highlight the different textures of  the flower selection.

The buttonholes  all boxed and ready to go were mini stories of the bouquet with billy buttons, green trick, carpe diem roses, freesias and dusty miller.

David Austin Roses

peach and mintWithout doubt David Austin roses have been the most requested bridal flower of the year….. And it’s easy to see why.David Austin rosesThey are not only impossibly pretty but have a heavenly fragrance… Each colour has a different perfume.David Austin 2As a solo act or mixing happily with other seasonal flowers we have used them in bouquets, head garlands, buttonholes and centre pieces and they are always a joy to behold.blue moon

David Austin roses will be in season until about mid April but they are very popular so early ordering is a must.

Nothing says “Pop!” quite like Billy buttons, the brightest and cutest of the Australian natives. Here, in these bouquets they just sing alongside the grey-green succulents, snowball and fiery pincushions.

Buttonholes were a white rose with glossy gardenia leaf and were worn by every member of the family.
